SQL Database Command timed out

Users receive a 'Timed Out" error when refreshing the list or starting Sage ACT! for the first time. This error is caused by a permission issue on your local workstation or insufficient permissions on the server.


Run as local administrator:
  1. Close ACT!
  2. Right-click on the desktop shortcut to open the popup menu
  3. Select "Run as Administrator" 

If you are NOT the local administrator then ACT will request you to enter your administrator password. Please contact your IT department for the administrator password.


Check the permission on the server:
  1. Right click the folder containing the database and select Properties.
  2. In the Properties window, select the Security tab.
  3. In the Group or user names list, select Everyone.
  4. Make sure that the Full Control box is selected and click OK.
Note: If Everyone is not present, click Add, type the word Everyone in the Enter the object names to select box, and click OK.
