Impact Studio Release Notes
This release continues to improve the reliability of
AI-generated reports, actions and ACT! automation.
Much of the work in this release focuses on making AI-generated
solutions more predictable while giving Impact Studio better
knowledge of ACT! and the Impact scripting environment.
Report Mode
Report Mode allows you to describe the ACT! information you want
in plain English and have Impact AI Studio generate the appropriate
query, lookup or report.
- Improved
SQL generation rules to produce more reliable
ACT! database queries.
- Improved handling of
ACT! custom tables and related entities
when building reports.
- Improved generation of queries containing multiple joins and
relationship tables.
- Improved handling of date and time values when generating
ACT! database queries.
- Additional validation is performed before AI-generated SQL is
executed.
- Improved instructions to the AI for determining when a report should
return
detail records versus summarized data.
- Continued hardening of Report Mode rules to reduce invalid SQL and
unsupported SQL syntax.
Design Mode & AI Actions
Design Mode lets users describe what they want ACT! to do and
allows Impact Studio to create buttons, scripts and automated
actions.
- Expanded the Impact Studio scripting instructions available to the AI.
- Improved support for creating actions that work with the
current ACT! Contact, Company, Group and Opportunity.
- Improved helper methods available to AI-generated scripts.
- Improved handling of ACT! custom entities and custom tables.
- Script testing now provides better feedback when generated code
encounters a
compile or runtime error.
- Impact Studio can identify the failing line of generated code and
provide the error information back to the AI for repair.
- Successful scripts now clearly report
Test passed! during the testing process.
- Continued refinement of the
Strict Execution Rules used when generating and
executing AI-created actions.
Microsoft Outlook Automation
- Improved AI-generated Outlook email automation.
- Improved support for both
HTML and text email messages.
- Improved handling of Word templates when merging content into
Outlook email messages.
- Embedded images contained in an email body are now correctly
associated with the generated HTML email.
- Images are attached to an Outlook email only when the image is
actually referenced by the email body.
- Continued improvements to Outlook COM object handling when actions
generate emails or appointments.
ACT! Activities & Automation
- Expanded scripting support for ACT! activities including
Calls, Meetings and To-Dos.
- Improved access to activity dates, times and associated ACT! records.
- Improved support for working with contacts associated with
ACT! activities.
- Improved support for creating ACT! history records from
AI-generated actions.
- Expanded history support including common activity results such as
Call Completed and
Call Left Message.
- Continued development of scheduled AI actions that can process
ACT! activities automatically.
AI Coach
- Improved AI Coach instructions for helping users turn an idea into
an actionable Impact Studio request.
- Improved guidance when a user's original request does not contain
enough information to reliably generate code.
- Continued expansion of Impact Studio's internal knowledge of the
ACT! environment and Impact scripting functions.
- Improved ability for the AI to understand which Impact Studio
functions should be used to accomplish a requested task.
AI Usage & Analytics
- Improved tracking of AI usage across
Research, Report and Design modes.
- Usage can now be analyzed by the type of AI operation being performed.
- Improved tracking of trial usage and daily usage limits.
- Improved handling when a trial user reaches the permitted usage
limit for a Studio mode.
- Continued work on token-usage analytics to better understand the
cost and efficiency of individual AI operations.
Reliability & AI Safety
- Continued refinement of the rules supplied to the AI before
generating reports or executable actions.
- Additional safeguards help prevent AI-generated code from using
unsupported methods or making assumptions.
- Improved separation between
instructions, generated code and execution.
- Continued testing designed to identify situations where the AI may
generate plausible-looking but incorrect code.
- Improved error feedback allows Impact Studio to give the AI the
actual error and attempt a more informed correction.
Current Development Focus
Development and testing continue in several areas:
- Further hardening of
Report Mode SQL-generation rules.
- Testing complex ACT! relationships and custom-table reports.
- Red-team testing of the
Strict Execution Rules used by Design Mode.
- Expanding the library of safe helper functions available to
AI-generated Actions.
- Testing Outlook automation across different email and template
scenarios.
- Testing ACT! activity handling and scheduled automation.
- Measuring prompt and token usage to reduce unnecessary AI context
while maintaining generation accuracy.
- Continuing to reduce AI hallucinations by supplying better ACT!-specific
context, rules and execution feedback.
Impact AI Studio is continually improving
Unlike a traditional ACT! add-on, many Impact Studio improvements
come from improving the instructions, rules and ACT!-specific
knowledge supplied to the AI.
As those rules improve, Impact Studio becomes better at understanding
ACT!, creating reports and generating reliable automation.
